Crossing Your Current Bridge Strong? Here's How.
If you caught my recent post on Finish Strong, Start Stronger, you know how important it is to close the year with clarity, confidence, and momentum.

But here’s the thing…finishing is just the start. šŸ¤” What?

Yep. What changes everything, is the…crossing.

āœ” Finishing strong is powerful.
šŸ”„ Impact comes from crossing strong.
āœ” Finishing ties up the chapter you’ve been in.
šŸ”„Crossing is intentional movement into what comes next, not just closure. It’s how you carry your wins, lessons, and momentum forward, into the next year (or bridge)…no matter what Q1 brings.

My youngest daughter is experiencing this right now! She’s ending her current job…today (Wednesday, at the time of this writing)! She’s tying up that chapter she’s been in for several years.

She begins her new job on Monday. Wow, right? This is a very intentional move forward, not just closure of the past. She’s carrying her wins, lessons, and momentum forward…into this next position, chapter, season, bridge…no matter what Q1 brings. She’s very purpose driven. 😊

And she's totally crossing strong!

Crossing vs. Finishing: Why the Difference Matters

When you finish strong, you may feel a sense of closure. Absolutely. Because you’re not just tying up those loose ends. Hopefully, you’re also celebrating wins, and leaving with a lighter mental load. That’s critical, no doubt.

Crossing strong, on the other hand, is about those things and more. It’s also about transitioning with purpose…like my daughter.

It’s not just ending well; it’s beginning well by actively walking into your next season with clarity, confidence, and energy. I’m watching this happen with her, and it truly makes my heart glad.

Think about a bridge: finishing is reaching the end of the bridge. Crossing is walking all the way across onto the next surface.

The first step onto the bridge doesn’t guarantee you’ll reach the other side. But moving intentionally, step by step, does.

With my daughter, she’s spent the past 3 weeks (her notice) getting those last steps of that bridge in, AND the first few steps across the line…the end of the bridge, are the preparation for what’s ahead.

Monday she’ll be stepping onto this new surface! In fact, she already has with a new project for her position. Sort of…starting early. And she was prepared.

But guess what? If she had only finished the last bridge…where would she be now? At the end…looking for the next? Wondering? Unclear? Maybe a little self-doubt creeping in?

Instead, she prepared for the end AND the beginning, and is simply…crossing…strong.

I’m SO proud of her! 🄰

The Power of Daily Lifestyle Actions

Crossing strong isn’t about doing everything at once or squeezing more into your schedule at the last minute. It’s about small, intentional steps that create momentum and keep your focus steady.

Here’s what that can look like:

  1. Choose a Few Key Actions Each Day
Don’t overwhelm yourself. Pick 1–3 meaningful things that move you forward, even if they’re tiny. Small steps repeated consistently are building momentum to get you across the bridge.
  2. Reflect and Reset
Each day, take a minute or two to note what worked, what didn’t, and what you want to carry forward. Too many people focus so much on, “I’ll never do that again,” that they forget what they learned, to carry THAT forward, and use it as a reset.  Reflection keeps your steps purposeful instead of reactive.
  3. Celebrate Micro-Wins
Every intentional step counts. Give yourself credit. Celebrate. Gratitude fuels motivation and keeps you moving…forward.
  4. Clear Space for the Next Season
Declutter your workspace and your headspace. Release lingering tasks, thoughts, or misconceptions. Create mental and physical space to finish strong across the bridge unburdened.
These are the daily lifestyle “crossing actions” that keep momentum alive, build confidence, and set the stage for a strong start to the new year.

The Crossing Strong 30-Day Challenge

Because I know crossing strong can feel overwhelming on your own (#procrastinate, #overdoit, #burnout), I created the Crossing Strong 30-Day Challenge.
  • Each day, you’ll get a simple, actionable lifestyle step delivered right to your inbox.
  • The steps are designed to build clarity, confidence, and momentum…one small, intentional action at a time. No overwhelm. No burnout.
  • Choose to do the challenge on your own, or have me by your side in a private chat room for questions, accountability, and support. What would work best for you?
  • Get a personal follow up with me within 2 weeks post-challenge, depending on which experience you choose. When you do the challenge on your own, I’ll email you personally to get your feedback, encourage you forward, and answer your most pressing question. If I’m by your side in the chat room, we’ll schedule a 20-min Zoom call for a deeper connection and support, within 2 weeks post-challenge.
  • By the end of the challenge, you’ll be ready to finish this year, AND step into the new year with purpose, focus, and energy…Crossing Strong!
Think of it (and me!) as your own personal bridge guide. šŸ˜Ž

You don’t have to guess or stress about where to start or how to continue. The daily lifestyle action steps show you exactly how to cross strong. BOOM!

Mindset Shift for Crossing Strong

Crossing strong requires a mindset shift:
  • Forward-Focused: You’re not dwelling on what wasn’t finished…you’re actively moving into what’s next.
  • Intentional: Every action has a purpose, even the smallest ones. Never underestimate the power of…simple.
  • Steady: Momentum is built through rhythm of the “daily.” This isn’t bursts of energy followed by burnout. Nope.
It’s a different kind of discipline…one that honors both your capacity and your vision. It’s you moving forward with awareness of the present, and grace for yourself for the future.

This isn’t you pushing harder. You’re crossing stronger!

Think of that athlete on the track. Do they go TO the finish line, and say, “Done!”

Absolutely not. They CROSS the finish line, and their intention is to cross it strong, not exhausted, and collapsing one step over it.

Shift.

Your Bridge into the New Year

Imagine January 1st.

You’ve watched the ball drop, and you’re SO grateful to see another year close.

But you know…you didn’t go until 12:00 midnight and say, “Done!” Nope. You spent the next few minutes or even hours, thinking about how you made it OVER into the new year, and what’s next...because the clock kept ticking.

You then rest, and begin the day (when you’re up and at ‘em again) as if you didn’t miss a beat. Because…you didn’t.

You’re not scrambling, overwhelmed, or trying to start from zero. You’ve crossed the bridge intentionally, my friend!

You’re already moving, already confident, already…ready.

Crossing Strong gives you:
  • Clarity: You know your priorities to make things happen, your last steps, and your first steps.
  • Confidence: You’ve proven you can follow through, right? Because…ya did!
  • Momentum: You’re not starting from scratch. You’re continuing a rhythm that already works.
Oh…I love that part. And THAT’s the power of crossing versus just finishing.

Keep Walking

Finishing strong is important. No question. No problem with that.

But crossing strong? That’s where transformation happens. Sometimes you can literally see and feel it happening.

It’s about showing up for yourself…step by step, every day…so you reach the other side of this year, not just done, but ready…as you step into the next.

AND you’ll carry that:
  • Clarity
  • Confidence
  • Momentum
…and step into the new year lighter, steadier, and more focused on who you’re becoming.
Are you excited…or what??? šŸ™ŒšŸ½šŸŽ‰šŸ”„

Take 30 days. Start now.

Keep walking. šŸ˜Ž
